Updated drivers and cubase 8.0.10 is workingso much better. May or maynot be relevant to you as I was having issues with 8.0.5, crashing, asio locks and crashses. Fingers crossed.Installed Cubase 8.0.10 update today and it only took less than 5 minutes to jam up,and Cubase 7.0 works perfect? Update is due "middle of March" & "improves stability using third-party plug-ins". Virtual Buss Compressors (all folders associated)ģ) Restart your computer and use the following plugin builds: (these are just the lastest issues of the plugins) Virtual Mix Rack folders (FG-S, FG-N, FG-401, FG-116, Revival, Virtual Mix Rack, etc…) Please try the following:ġ) Please uninstall VMR using "Programs and Features"Ģ) Delete the following information found in C:/ProgramData (note: this folder is hidden by default.) Evidently all Slate files were not erased when uninstalled, thus causing my problem when trying to reinstall plugins. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that it worked for quite a while until I had to start fooling around with stuff.Ĭontacted Slate regarding this matter and these instructions solved my problem. Did all the typical re-installation of Cubase and Slate plugins.

And like everyone else in this thread, I had the same issue with Cubase crashing as it scanned the plugins at start up. Not a single slate plug in has worked since.

Had a little CPU issue so while the Slate 64 bit plugins were installed, I thought I could just install the vst3 versions, and swap them, thinking maybe I could save a little CPU. Had no real issues with any of Slate plugins, I have them all. and copy back into it your preference folders from the backups folder you created in step 1.Īlso copy from this folder your fresh Cubase 8 prefs, so you have a clean set of backups you can load any time you ever need to skunk prefs again. Close Cubase.ģ - Go back to the folder Users//AppData/Roaming/Steinberg. Once done, save your prefs, save your Key Commands too - these will now get written as XML files in the Prefs folder, so you have a freshly created set of backups.

There is also one creeping into use at C:/Program Files/VSTplugins, but if you have the Waves plugins avoid adding this as you will end up loading the Waves VST2 shell as well as the VST3 one, and that will seriously mess up your lists! Also take care to set up your VST2 plugin folders to all the usual locations - on PC these are as follows:Ĭ:/Program Files/Common Files/Steinberg/VST2 Set up your Media Bay properly as well - it's worth it. Set it all up once you get to the hub, and take the time to do it right. Leave no Cubase folders at all in the main folder in bold above.Ģ - Launch Cubase 8 - it will now build a brand new set of preferences & settings from scratch. Create a new folder in there & call it Steiny Prefs Backups or something similar, and *move* all your Cubase 6/7/8 folders into this backup folder.

I do not know how to do this on a mac, but on a 64-bit PC you do this:ġ - Go to Users//AppData/Roaming/Steinberg. 1 - With all plugins installing both 64 & 32-bit versions, either do not install the 32-bit ones (why would you need them if working in 64-bit & vice-versa) or else make very sure that you are not pointing the plugin manager at both 32-bit & 54-bit folders containing the same plugins.Ģ - After installing the Cubase update, trash your prefs completely & rebuild new ones from scratch - do not let Cubase import from earlier versions.
